2012 Infiniti FX Details

The 2012 Infiniti FX is offered as an FX35, an FX35 Limited Edition, and an FX50.  The FX35 has a 3.5-liter V6 engine that generates 303 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.  This vehicle comes standard with rear-wheel-drive, but all-wheel-drive is available.  The FX50 has a 5.0-liter V8 engine that puts out 390 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque.  This vehicle comes standard with all-wheel-drive. All trims come with a seven-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control. 

The EPA has estimated that the rear-wheel-drive FX35 will get 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway, the all-wheel-drive FX35 will get 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, and the FX50 will get 14 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway.

The Limited Edition FX35 all-wheel-drive vehicle has slight changes to its styling, standard navigation, and a more advanced suspension.  The FX50 is available with a sport package that includes an adaptive suspension with auto and sport modes.

 

2012 Infiniti FX Safety and Features

The 2012 FX crossovers come standard with many safety features including airbags, traction control, stability control, antilock disc brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency braking assist, an engine immobilizer, and a driver and passenger head restraint whiplash protection system. 

Optional safety features include a 360-degree-view camera, a lane-departure warning and prevention system, adaptive cruise control, and intelligent brake assist which alerts drivers to take action if they are approaching an object too quickly and can automatically apply brakes if the driver does not take appropriate action.

The 2012 FX merited the highest score of "Good" from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for frontal-offset impact protection and rear crash protection/head restraint.  The 2012 FX has not been tested yet by the federal government.
