Infiniti once coveted the title of "fastest full hybrid," but now the Japanese luxury brand has earned  it by beating Porsche fair and square with its new Infiniti M35h hybrid vehicle, which recently went head-to-head with Porsche's Panamera S Hybrid for the title.

Infiniti won the title in a sprint from 0-100 mph. The M35h reached 100mpg in only 11.54 seconds and covered the quarter-mile track in 13.41 seconds. The times for the Porsche Panamera S have not been revealed. The Infiniti M35h features a naturally-aspirated 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine that produces 360 horsepower and works in tandem with a 50kW/270kW electric engine. The hybrid only uses 8.1 liters per 100km (which translates to an achievement of about 32 mpg fuel economy) despite the power it produces. The race is showcased in thenew Infiniti commercial, "The Duel." The M35h will now be listed as the world's fastest hybrid in the Guinness Book of World Records.

As far as more "everyday" driving stats go, the M35h gets from 0-62 in 5.5 seconds and achieves 27 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway.
