More Hybrids to Hit the Road

Most of us have been through the smog testing procedure.  It's not usually a quick process but a necessary one to avoid any further annoying paperwork.  There are a couple ways to get out of these irksome legalities though.  If you drive a hybrid, gas powered 1975 model or earlier, diesel powered made before 1988 or with a Gross Vehicle Weight rating over 14,000 pounds, electric, natural gas powered vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight rating over 14,000 pounds, motorcycle, or a trailer, you can avoid this time-consuming errand.  Not only does driving a hybrid or electric car help you save time at the DMV, but it is better for the environment than other gas-guzzling ones.

The California government recognizes the environmental benefits of these cars, and since we can literally see the air pollution, decided to take some action.  Regulators are now mandating major automakers to increase the number of electric, plug-in hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell-powered models to about 15% of all vehicles sold in the golden state in thirteen years.  For our populated state, that means by 2025 we'll see around 1.4 million of these eco-friendly cars on the freeways.  The carpool lane may no longer be the desired left lane.  However, experts predict tailpipe emissions to be reduced by nearly 75% and greenhouse gases 34% in the next thirteen years.

While there are a lot of green cars available on the market, the problem is that most of them look like eco-friendly cars.  That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for a hybrid that looks, feels, and drives like a luxury car, check out the Infiniti M35h.  For local Infiniti dealers, Moreno Valley and Riverside areas offer certified dealership Infiniti of Riverside.
